A one-year-old boy who was subject of an AMBER Alert out of Modesto had been living in Elko County.
According to investigators, the mother Rehanna De La Rosa was due in Elko District Court on Tuesday over immediate temporary guardianship, but she never showed up and changed her phone number.
Wednesday, they learned the child had been taken to Modesto.
Police there received reports that the mother's boyfriend had punched the child and locked him in the closet for long periods of time.
The mother and child ended up being found in Las Vegas.
The investigation is ongoing.

An AMBER Alert has been issued for a one-year-old last seen in Modesto, California, who might be in the Reno area.
Leonardo Paco De La Rosalund is described as white and in unknown clothing.
He is possibly with his mom, Rehanna Star De La Rosa, described as white, five feet one inch tall, and 119 pounds, with unknown clothing.
He could also be with his mom’s boyfriend, Donny Alichanh.
He is possibly in a black 2009 Toyota Scion with California plates 6UVS848.
