The RSCVA Board of Directors on Thursday selected a search firm to find qualified candidates to be the agency's next president and CEO after Phil DeLone resigned last month due to 'medical reasons.'
Board members voted unanimously to move forward with SearchWide Global for a minimum price of $75,000, but the board will try to negotiate the cost down, so it may ultimately cost less to find a candidate.

The RSCVA Board of Directors accepted CEO Phil DeLone's resignation on Thursday and is now looking for a replacement.
Board members voted to give DeLone three months of medical leave and two months of severance pay.
After board members accepted the resignation, they chose both Ed Lawson, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors, and Bob Lucey, Chairman of the Board of Directors, to fill in as interim president and CEO until a permanent person can be named. If the board does not like any named nominees by the next scheduled meeting, they could choose to hire a national search firm.
Earlier this month, DeLone cited 'medical reasons' for his departure.
The RSCVA previously released statement:
"In accordance with the terms of his Employment Agreement, Mr. DeLone has tendered his resignation as the President/CEO of the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, citing medical reasons. Mr. DeLone’s resignation will be addressed at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the RSCVA Board of Directors. The RSCVA wishes Mr. DeLone well as he addresses his medical needs."
Last month a spokesman for the RSCVA confirmed that DeLone was under investigation for alleged misconduct.
That is still an ongoing investigation.
An attorney for the agency also confirms the investigation, but not offer any specific details.
According to the RSCVA's webpage, DeLone was also CEO of Safari Club International.
