Douglas County deputies need your help finding a person of interest in an active home burglary investigation.
Deputies say a homeowner returned home last month after a 3-week vacation to find evidence that someone had been inside - with items moved around, food eaten and his birth certificate missing.
During the investigation, deputies say they recovered a wallet containing a Visa debit card issued to Clarence Zillman, along with a Safeway receipt for the purchase of two packs of Camel cigarettes. From that, they were able to find surveillance video of the suspected person who bought the items, at the Round Hill Shopping Center store.
The person seen on the video was wearing a shirt and hat that the victim identified as his own. The shirt was later recovered inside the home, while the hat remains missing.
Investigators believe the receipt recovered from the home is linked to the transaction seen in the surveillance video.
