Happy 4th of July Independence Day

Mark your calendars and start planning now ~ this Fourth of July is shaping up to be a milestone celebration as communities across Northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and surrounding California regions prepare to mark America’s 250th birthday with fireworks, parades and family events.

Whether you're looking for a large fireworks display, a hometown parade or family-friendly activities, communities across the region are planning celebrations throughout the holiday weekend. Additional events will be added as information becomes available.

As a reminder, fireworks are illegal in Washoe County and much of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend organized public displays. The only exception is Pyramid Lake, where fireworks are allowed only in designated areas with a valid permit.

Visitors planning to celebrate at Pyramid Lake should note that temporary holiday pricing will be in effect July 1–6, fireworks permits are only available at the tribe's three store locations, and all motorized and trailered watercraft must undergo a mandatory inspection before launching. Additional rules and regulations are available in the attached Pyramid Lake holiday flyer below.
