In tonight's Places 2 Check Out, we'll take a look at a long-time Gardnerville staple-which recently expanded to Reno.
The original Hamdogs location that opened in 1994 is known for its food - Â and the new location on Plumb Lane is no exception.
The restaurant's name comes from the name of the sandwich, which is kind of like a meatloaf sandwich made with ground beef and pork and served on hoagie roll, but there's much more variety you can find there. Â
"We've got a little bit of everything, any of our burgers you can get with a portabello patty... we've got veggie patty, you can get chicken breast. Â Our pulled pork, actually any of our meat really we smoke with a red oak," says Dustin Mills.Â
The owner says they use quality meat and all their ingredients are made from scratch which you can taste. Hamdogs is located on Plumb Lane just west of where it crosses Virginia Street. It's open 24 hours a day... 7 days a week.
