The Fort Churchill Visitor Center has reopened to the public after it initially closed due to recent earthquakes in nearby Silver Springs.

At the time, the state historic park said, "the closure is necessary to ensure the safety of visitors and staff while the building is assessed. The park remains open, and outdoor areas are still accessible at this time."

Photos showed a large horizontal crack along the ceiling. 

Numerous moderate quakes have struck the area since mid-April after the initial magnitude 5.7 quake struck about 17 miles southwest of Fallon
