California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened at the Intersection of U.S. 50 and Meadow Vale Drive, near Lake Tahoe Golf Course in South Lake.
It happened just before 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
A Subaru BRZ was traveling westbound on U.S. 50 at Meadow Vale while a Toyota RAV4 was heading eastbound.
According to CHP, for an unknown reason, the driver of the Subaru drifted into the right shoulder, over-corrected and swerved into the eastbound lanes, hitting the right side of the Toyota.
The Subaru then continued and hit a Ram pickup truck. The female driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name has not been released.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to CHP.
