Update – June 11, 2025:
The Reno Police Department has confirmed that 36-year-old Jorge Trujillo-Gutierrez is the suspect in the ongoing domestic violence investigation tied to a gold Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with Nevada license plate 46D-079.
Police say that during the course of the investigation, it was determined that Trujillo-Gutierrez had battered and kidnapped a 31-year-old woman.
Officers located Trujillo-Gutierrez around 3:00 a.m. on June 11 in the area of Emery Drive and Walts Street while responding to a report of a fight.
Trujillo-Gutierrez was arrested at the scene for kidnapping and domestic battery (second offense) and booked into the Washoe County Jail.
Police say the victim was found safe and has been provided with appropriate resources.
First Update – June 10, 2025:
Officers located the truck related to the earlier suspicious circumstances on the evening of June 9 and had it towed.
It was determined to be involved in a domestic violence situation, which remains under active investigation.
Original Report – June 9, 2025:
The Reno Police Department requested the public’s help in locating a pickup truck involved in suspicious circumstances.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. on June 9, officers responded to the area of Peckham Lane and S. Virginia Street for a report of suspicious activity.
During the investigation, police identified a gold Chevrolet Silverado pickup with Nevada license plate 46D-079 as being involved.
