UPDATE:

An Elko County man has been found guilty of two counts of eluding law officers during a high-speed chase in December after prosecutors withdrew an attempted murder charge.

The Elko Daily Free Press reported Monday an Elko District Court jury also found 38-year-old Tony Pressler guilty of one count of grand larceny of a motor vehicle but found him innocent of assault with a deadly weapon and burglary.

Pressler originally was accused of trying to run over an Elko police officer pursuing him as a domestic violence suspect.

Defense attorney Diana Hillewaert said prosecutors couldn't prove Pressler was driving the pickup truck involved.

Elko County District Attorney Mark Mills said he withdrew the murder charge a day after jury deliberations began because he didn't think the evidence wasn't strong enough to prove Pressler's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Original Story, December 2018: Elko Police say they arrested a domestic violence suspect after two separate chases early Friday morning.

Police say they responded to an area in the bushes near Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital to investigate a reported domestic violence incident, just after 6 a.m.

As officers arrived, they say the suspect fled the area in a car on Powder House Road in Elko.

Then later, police say the same suspect fled from Elko Police Officers and Elko Sheriff’s Deputies in a second car in Spring Creek.

The Elko County Sheriff's Office says 37-year-old Tony Pressler of Spring Creek was charged with attempted murder, grand theft auto and eluding.

They said during the pursuit, an Elko Police officer fired at him but he was not hit.

The State Investigation Division is investigating the case.
