With a winter storm warning in effect in the greater Lake Tahoe area, chain controls are in effect on many roads in and around the Sierra.
Controls are in place on I-80, Mt. Rose Highway, Kingsbury Grade, State Route 89 in California, and Highway 50 in California.
As always, use caution while driving in slick, wintry conditions.
