As storms continue to move across the state, Elko County is now reporting lightning activity - some resulting in wildfire.
According to a post from the Elko County Fire Protection District, one fire has reportedly been sparked from lightning so far in the eastern part of the state.
The Kilgore Ridge Fire has been reported as being northeast of Montello, and mapped at around one quarter of an acre in size.
The Fire Protection District has announced that containment of the fire has reached 100%.
Officials are asking neighbors to stay alert and watch for new fire starts - particularly in remote areas where smoke might not be reported right away.
Any people getting eyes on smoke are reminded to take a minute to make sure it’s not dust, but then report any suspected fire immediately.
