On Thursday, the Lyon County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved sending a letter to Governor Sisolak asking him to reduce restrictions on businesses countywide and to also utilize the National Guard to enhance testing capabilities.

In the letter commissioners state that "Lyon County has concerns that decisions are being made about our economy based upon numbers as a County as a whole when in reality two of our populated areas meet your your requirements to limit business activities."

The below document then gives stats on the county, and four "populated areas."

Commissioners then request Sisolak "open our business with common sense requirements of wearing personal protective equipment, social distancing and sanitation."

The meeting, which took an hour of discussion, came as a request from Commissioners Ken Gray and Jay Dini during the July 16, 2020 regular Board of Commissioners meeting.

We've contacted the Governor's office for a comment.
