On Wednesday, the U.S. House passed the Laken Riley Act, one of the measures Republicans are introducing to address the border and immigration crisis.

We spoke with RNC National Committeeman Jim DeGraffenreid, who stated that the orders indicate the administration's willingness to take decisive action on the issues they were elected to address.

"The problem has grown out of control. On his first day in office, President Biden eliminated all of the controls on immigration that President Trump had put in place during his first term, and we saw the result of that. Millions of illegal immigrants crossed the border over the four years of the Biden-Harris administration," said RNC Committeeman for Nevada Jim Degraffenreid.

Organizations in Nevada and across the country are responding to the significant policy changes.

ACLU-Nevada has launched new services to help individuals and businesses understand their rights and prepare for ICE workplace or church raids.

"I don't really care about what the Trump administration says. I think many of us don't. They are another set of elected officials, and again, I don't care if they're Republican or Democrat, neither does my team, neither does our organization, neither does any of our constituency. Regardless of the party, we stand and uphold the principles of civil liberties and civil rights," said ACLU Nevada Executive Director Athar Haseebullah.

On Tuesday, Democratic Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford joined a multi-state lawsuit challenging President Trump's order to ban birthright citizenship for the children of immigrants born on U.S. soil.
