Several hundred students and staff at Coral Academy came together on Wednesday in an attempt to secure a Guinness World Record as part of the America 250 celebration.

Students demonstrated their knowledge and preparation as they recited the preamble to the United States Constitution.

Through practice, teamwork, and dedication, students showed a strong understanding of the importance of the Constitution and the freedoms it protects.

There is a program focused on understanding the U.S. Constitution and American government as part of the statewide Nevada initiative.

Teachers say things like this world record attempt strengthens memorization skills, and also helps students better understand the meaning behind the powerful words, "We the people."

The preamble sets the tone for the entire Constitution, outlining key goals such as establishing justice, ensuring domestic tranquility, providing for the common defense, promoting the general welfare, and securing the blessings of liberty.

Events like this encourage civic awareness and inspire students to take pride in their role as future leaders.
