Washoe County Democrats officially launched the "Harris for President" campaign on Thursday.

Over 100 volunteers and supporters crowded into the main conference room of the campaign office. The event was attended by top Democrats in Nevada, including State Treasurer Zach Conine, Speaker of the Nevada Assembly Steve Yeager, former Lt. Governor Kate Marshall, Reno Assemblyman Angie Taylor, Sparks Assemblywoman Natha Anderson, and Washoe County Recorder Kalie Work.

In Las Vegas, Attorney General Aaron Ford and State Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno hosted an official launch event on Thursday as well.

Energy and enthusiasm are high following last week's announcement that Kamala Harris will lead the campaign. In the first 24 hours, $81 million has been invested in the campaign, and in Nevada alone, 600 people have signed up to volunteer at one of the state's 13 "Harris for President" offices.

Democrats continue to warn voters about Project 2025, a 920-page ultra-conservative plan crafted by the Heritage Foundation, though former President Trump and running mate J.D. Vance have distanced themselves from it.

While Project 2025 does not call for an outright national abortion ban - it does propose to reverse FDA approval of the most commonly used abortion drug and block abortion drugs from being sent by mail.

Harris for President press events were held in dozens of major cities nationwide to support the presidential campaign reboot.
