BLAINE MILLER MUG.jpg

A Lassen County man has been sentenced to four years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of possession of child pornography, one count of communicating with a minor for lewd purposes, and theft from an elderly adult.

56-year-old Blaine Miller was initially under investigation on suspicion that he had been stealing money from a dependent adult of whom Miller had power of attorney. The victim was hospitalized at the time.

Shortly after charges were filed, a person went to the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office to report that they had purchased a cell phone from Miller and found images that appeared to be child pornography.

During their investigation, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office determined the images were, in fact, child sex abuse material. Investigators also found messages on the phone of a conversation between Miller and an underage girl from out of state. The messages were sexual in nature.

Miller will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
