Fifteen people are now dead in connection with lightning-sparked North Complex fires burning in Plumas, Butte and Yuba Counties. 

CAL FIRE says the whole complex has burned a total of 314,949 acres, and is 79% contained after sparking near Mt. Hough in Plumas National Forest on Monday, August 17.  CAL FIRE says the wildfire passed over into Butte County on September 8. 

It's expected to be fully contained in mid-November.

More than 23,350 buildings remain threatened, while 2,471 buildings are destroyed or damaged. 

One firefighter suffered an injury.

Also, on Tuesday, September 15th, the Forest Service extended its temporary closures for all 18 National Forests within California. This Closure Order includes the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. It will be re-evaluated as conditions change.
