As we get closer to the expected beginning of phase one of the governor’s 'Roadmap to Recovery' on May 15th, places like retail shops and restaurants are preparing for what it could look like.

Although the official guidelines from the Nevada Restaurant Association have yet to be distributed, restaurants we spoke with have a bunch of ideas to keep customers safe.

"We make sure to be wearing masks, we make sure to be wearing gloves, making sure to follow all the sanitation practices that we always do, but we are stepping that up. When we reopen at 50 percent, with social distancing, with PPE, those are the three bullet points that we know," said Mark Estee, Owner of Liberty Food and Wine Exchange.

"We're going to take some extra precautions, the staff wearing masks which they already do now, there's a lot of things we already put into play with the curbside and the to-go, and we are just going to keep that going into when they let us have a certain percentage of our restaurant open," said Brian Clary, Director of Operations for Bully's Sports Bar and Grill.

Restaurants are prepping for the partial openings after Governor Sisolak's statements regarding phase one last week: "We will consider the gradual reopening of dine-in restaurants and personal care services, but with strict guidelines to protect the health and safety of the workers and customers."

There are some practices that were created by the pandemic that will remain in some restaurants.

"We'll keep our curb side, we'll keep our online, we will keep the things we've added, so we kind of enhance the business as we go to reopen the business. So the idea is to try to find that nice balance and the best of both worlds," said Estee.

Bully's Sports Bar and Grill will be using all the same guidelines when it comes to distancing and PPE, but has a few ideas on how to give customers the experience they go for.

“We've talked about big games, replays of some amazing Super Bowls and letting the public know. We have also kind of dabbled in sports movie nights, where they can come out and maybe watch their favorite sports movie," said Clary.

Bully's is also playing around with the idea for paper menus.            Again, the official guidelines for partial reopening of dine-in is said to come from the Nevada Restaurant Association.
