Local Reno startup Good Elephant held a Bunny Yoga Festival Kickoff Class at Idlewild Park on Sunday. This is an introductory event and preview of Reno's first ever Bunny Yoga Festival. Good Elephant has teamed up with the Reno Rabbit Rescue and will host the upcoming event at Idlewild Park on September 28th.
The festival will include yoga all day with Good Elephant Reno's teachers and you can bring your bunny for some treats. There will be bunny adoptions, local vendors, food, and music. The Bunny Yoga Festival’s goal is to foster mindful awareness and provide adoption opportunities.
According to the American Products Association, rabbits are the most commonly kept small animal pet in the US. Over 15.9 million small animals are pets and 42% of those are rabbits. President Carly Neubert says there is a lack of of education about how to properly house and care for pet rabbits. The festival is an opportunity to learn more about bunny behavior, housing, and care.
The event is free for general attendees, and a wristband to do yoga all day costs just $45. The festival is currently seeking sponsors, vendors, advertising opportunities and bunnies! Learn more and sign up at bunnyyogafestival.com or on instagram at @bunnyyogafestival.
