Toys for Tots Needs Donations

The Marine Corps League is collecting toys for less fortunate kids in its annual "Toys for Tots" drive.

Organizers with Toys for Tots say they have been amazed so far at the generosity from the community, and that their toy drive is actually ahead of schedule. But they still have a long way to go before they meet their goals and the theft of their trailer last month set them back a bit.

But they say, it's actually motivated the donors.

"Since that incident with the trailer, we've been getting a lot of support from the community and a lot of donations,” says Don Enea.

They're still looking for toys for kids of all ages, from stuffed animals to video games, bikes, dolls and puzzles.

And they say the look on a child's face when they get a brand new toy on Christmas morning, makes all the effort worth it. To donate, you can take

new, unwrapped toys to any of the dropoff bins at local businesses all over the area

.

And they are also in need of volunteers, if you can help, just call them at 622-7996.
