The Nevada Department of Transportation will be reducing lanes during the night on I-580 in Washoe Valley, as well as closing Slide Mountain Road.

The lane reductions and closures will take place through mid-September to allow NDOT to replace barrier rail and guard rail.

On I-580, one lane will be closed in each direction between Bellevue Road and Eastlake Boulevard from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday.

Two lanes will remain open during the day, and speed limits will be reduced to 55 miles per hour.

Slide Mountain Road (State Route 878) will be closed from August 12 through mid-September.

The road is closed for public safety, since barrier rail will be temporarily removed along a steep hillside.

Although the road will be closed to the public, Mt. Rose Ski Resort staff will still be able to access the road.
