Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen got his head shaved early Tuesday morning to help raise awareness for children’s cancer research.
Sheriff Allen got the closely-cropped head shave, at D&D Barbers on Kietzke Lane in Reno at 6:30 a.m. to help raise awareness for the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation, as part of St. Baldrick’s Day.
The rest of his team, which has already raised over $3,000, will have their heads shaved Friday at 6 p.m. at the Reno Livestock Events Center.

Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s had awarded more than $154 million to support lifesaving research.
