During the month of November, Washoe County Deputies and Sheriff's Office Staff grew out their beards for a good cause. The deputies and office staff participated in "No Shave November" to show their support for men diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The deputies and staff were allowed to grow their facial hair or wear an adhesive mustache outside of normal Sheriff's Office standards in exchange for a $20 donation to the Renown Health Foundation. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office raised over $4000 and the money was presented to Renown Institute of Cancer to provide assistance to local men being treated for prostate cancer.

Sheriff Chuck Allen and Washoe deputies presented the check to Renown's Institute for Cancer on Tuesday, December 13.

The Washoe County Deputies and Sheriff's Office Staff plan to continue growing their facial hair until the end of March, raising money for four different charities in hopes of helping others in our community.
