Saturday, September 26th, hundreds of people gathered at Reno High School to offer their support for people with Down Syndrome and their families in the 10th annual Reno Buddy Walk and Fun Fair.Â
The Down Syndrome Network of Northern Nevada (DSNN)Â hosted this event, encouraging the community to accept and include people with Down syndrome. DSNN is a nonprofit organization that promotes a positive understanding of Down Syndrome. They host eight different programs throughout the year that benefit the disability community. Buddy Walk is part of a national effort to raise awareness and funds for people with Down syndrome and their families. The National Down Syndrome Society developed the Buddy Walk in 1995 and it has grown to more than 250 walks nationwide.Â
