Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders spoke at the Nevada campus on Tuesday night, in front of hundreds of supporters.
During his speech, Sanders mentioned how the economy needs to work better with the middle class, allowing wage-earners who work 40 hours a week to live a decent life. He stressed how the country is run by people with money, using the Waltons as an example. "If you work 40 hours a week, you should not be living in poverty."
He also touched on subjects like increasing the minimum wage, job creation, the prison population, infrastructure, family values and healthcare, and immigration.Â
Earlier in the day, the Vermont Senator spoke at the annual Nevada AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention in Las Vegas.Â
Hillary Clinton spoke at a town hall in Las Vegas and toured a local carpenter union’s training center before attending the same convention.Â
Former Maryland Gov. Martin O' Malley is expected to speak to the convention on Wednesday morning.
Sanders' last visit to Nevada was in June, when he spoke at the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials conference in Las Vegas. (AP)Â
