February is Black History Month and on Wednesday, the Reno City Council issued a proclamation acknowledging it.
"Now therefore I Naomi Duerr, on behalf of our mayor Hillary L. Schieve, do hereby proclaim February 2016 as Black History Month."
Representatives of the NAACP attended the ceremony at Reno City Hall earlier today, and said the proclamation represents their work to provide equal access to all.
On Monday, Sparks proclaimed February "Black History Month".
