ELKO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities in Nevada say they have found the body of a Colorado man who went missing three years ago while riding an Amtrak train home.
The Elko Daily Free Press reported (http://bit.ly/1hMRwK0) Saturday that Elko County Undersheriff Clair Morris says the remains of Robin Putnam were discovered last week and have been positively identified.
According to Morris, a railroad worker doing maintenance near Wells found a skull and deputies located Putnam's body next to the tracks.
Morris said deputies also found Putnam's debit card nearby.
The 25-year-old disappeared after boarding a train for Colorado in California in July 2012.
According to his family, he also had mental health issues.
His parents hired private investigators and also searched Salt Lake City, where Putnam was reportedly last seen.
