Authorities say no one was seriously hurt after a woman crashed a Honda through the front of Eagle Fitness on Sharlands Avenue off of Robb Drive in northwest Reno.

Police tell us the unidentified driver accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake, and drove through the glass front of the building, just before 10 a.m. Thursday.

They say they don't believe alcohol was involved.

A trainer we spoke with estimated there were up to 75 people inside the gym when the crash happened.

"I wasn't paying attention. I had my headphones on, and you hear this big 'ol crash and you look to the left of you and there's a car sitting there. I mean I guess now, how often does that happen," says fitness trainer Ernie Dumpit.

Gym member Andria Holt adds, "We were terrified. We weren't sure if the building was collapsing, or if it was a shooting, or what was going on. It was so loud, it was crazy."

Holt says she had her daughters with her and that made the experience even more terrifying.

"I had my 18-year-old daughter and my 14-year-old daughter with me. We were just about to go work out in that area and for some reason we decided to do arms somewhere else, so we were very lucky."

Eagle Fitness says it hopes to reopen on Friday. It will remain closed for the rest of the day.

One woman, Claire McHugh Gilles told us that she was hurt in the incident. She shared the photo with us on Facebook.
