Carson City Deputies are investigating a body that was found Wednesday morning in a pond at the Carson City Fairgrounds.
The body was found near South Carson Street and Old Clear Creek Road, just south of Bodine’s Restaurant just after 9:15 a.m. at Bailey's Pond within Fuji Park.
Deputies say the pond is maintained by the Carson City Parks and Recreation Department, and is regularly stocked with fish.
Deputies say an initial report indicates that a fisherman had arrived in the area and saw what appeared to be an older man face down in the water.
Deputies say the body will be transported to the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
