Actress Phylicia Rashad has apologized after posting in support of Bill Cosby's release from jail.

On June 30, Rashad posted a picture of Bill Cosby alongside a tweet that read "FINALLY!!!! A terrible wrong is being righted - a miscarriage of justice is corrected!"

Cosby's sexual assault conviction was overturned in Pennsylvania last Wednesday after officials found an agreement with a previous prosecutor that prevented Cosby from being charged in the case.

Three hours after her post, Rashad deleted the tweet and said posted an apology.

"I fully support survivors of sexual assault coming forward. My post was in no way intended to be insensitive to their truth. Personally, I know from friends and family that such abuse has lifelong residual effects. My heartfelt wish is for healing," Rashad wrote.
