The Reno Fire Department says crews responded to a house fire on Arroyo Street on Thursday.
Officials said it was at a duplex home between Vassar Street and Holcomb Avenue.
They said it was a small fire in the basement but crews knocked it down quickly.
There was minimal damage to the house and people were home at the time, but there were no injuries.
The cause is under investigation.
Arroyo Street will be closed for another hour while crews clear the scene.
The public is asked to avoid the area until further notice.
