Crews Quickly Knock Down Two Fires Along US-395

The Reno Fire Department says two fires started in the area between northbound US-395 and the Parr Boulevard on ramp on Tuesday evening.

They said crews knocked it down within ten minutes.

Reno Fire says one fire was a quarter of an acre in size, while the other was 50 by 50 feet.

They said the fire bumped both sides of the road and was spreading toward the east, but they said the roads probably stopped the progression of the fire while crews worked to put it out.

At one point, Reno Fire said the flames were two to three feet in length.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A portion of northbound US-395 was blocked for a time, but our crew on scene says the roads have since reopened.
