The Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) says detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened on Thanksgiving night outside a home on Sidehill Drive in Sun Valley.
Officials with WCSO said shortly before midnight, deputies responded to a house on Sidehill Drive, south of Fifth Avenue on the report of a stabbing.
They said when crews arrived, they found two adult men who were stabbed. Officials said both victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, but one of them was pronounced dead at the hospital. They said the second victim was treated and released.
Officials with WCSO said the cause of death and the identity of the deceased victim will be confirmed by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner.
Officials said upon investigation, the stabbing was the result of an alleged confrontation between the two victims and a suspect, 33-year-old Jacob Hutsey. They said Hutsey was found early on the morning of November 29 and arrested on a charge of battery with a deadly weapon.
