A Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy has received a Lifesaving Medal for helping a save a patient, earlier this year.
Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini presented the medal last month to Deputy Kevin Karosich.
Deputy Karosich responded to a residence on April 12th regarding a non-responsive patient who was not breathing and had no pulse. Deputy Karosich performed CPR until East Fork District Paramedics arrived on scene.Â
According to East Fork Battalion Chief David Fogerson, Deputy Karosich was responsible for saving the patient’s life due to his quick life saving measures.Â
Deputy Karosich has been a member of the Douglas County Sheriff for almost 10 years and prior to that he served in the US Air Force for 22 years.Â
