For the first time in state history, Nevada democrats don't have to wait till caucus day to pick their presidential candidate. In the first two days, more than 26-thousand democrats took advantage of that and it looks like thousands more today.
Two hours is the average wait time for voting, that didn’t stopping people from coming. They say it's better than more hours on caucus day.
“It’s a nice warm day, thank god for that, but I am not leaving until I’m done, I’m determined,” says voter Betty Salerno.
All you need to vote is your name and your top three candidates, if you're not a registered democrat, you can also register on site. Once you cast your ballot, you're done. That vote will be counted on caucus day. The number of people early voting is rising by the minute. Officials tell say on Saturday they had about 600 people at the Nevada Dems office. On Sunday 800 people voting. On Monday, they expected 1000 people or more.
“By having 4 days of early voting for the caucus we are going to destroy the old records for the number of people participating in a Nevada caucus,” Site Coordinator, Doug Smithson.
