There's a new event making its debut at Hot August Nights this year. The Sierra Nevada European Car Show features classics from across the Pond.
"We have a a Maserati coupe, 1962, one of only 32 made," said Event director John O'Mahony. "We have a Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet, it's one of 220 Ferrari conviertibles built in 1960. There's a whole variety of the most iconic desings - French, German, Italian, some Engligh cars; some really good stuff."
The Sands Regency is hosting the show in its North parking lot.
"I think this adds a totally new dimension to the festival from a sense that the cars we are bringing here, at least half a dozen are some of the most iconic sports cars and designs ever made," O'Mahony said. The orgianal Corvette, the original American sports cars all morphed off the European designs."
The event will feature classics and some future classics as well.
"We will also have Ferrari race cars, some hyper cars, super cars and some of the more modern Ferraris, McLarens, absolutely gorgeous automobiles," O'Mahony said.
it's a family-friendly show they hope to grow in years to come.
"I've got food trucks here, we've just dropped some Burning Man art on the street," O'Mahony said. "This will be an arts and entertainment district when we're done and we're excited to share this with the city of Reno."
