If you're feeling a little sniffily today, you are not alone. As the summer season changes to fall, many people are feeling their allergies kicking in. Â
Ragweed, sagebrush, and chenopods are causing the most problems this time of year according to a pollen count, but trees and their changing of leaves is also causing issues this time of year as well.  Â
Here are some tips to prevent or reduce allergies.
According to
everydayhealth.com:
- Stay clean. Washing off pollen from your skin quickly can reduce the allergy effectsÂ
- Take your shoes off before you enter your home. If you have any pollen from the outdoors on your shoes, it will stay outdoors
- Check the pollen count. On days when the pollen level is high, avoid being outdoors for a long period of time
- And because it is still hot outside, if you can, use an air conditioner to cool your home off, and keep windows closed
Today's pollen count is actually in the medium range, but a high pollen count is expected for later in the week.
  Â
The fall season is just beginning so the pollen forecast is expected to remain high for some weeks.
