WCSO Responding to Crash

The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) released new information on a fatal crash that happened on January 6 on SR-376 in Nye County, north of Tonopah.

A preliminary investigation showed that around 6:13 p.m., a 2020 Toyota Sienna was going northbound on SR-376, while a 1997 Ford F-250 was going south on the same road toward Tonopah.

Officials say for unknown reasons, the driver of the Toyota let the car cross the centerline and into the path of the Ford, where they crashed head-on.

The driver and a passenger of the Toyota succumbed to their injuries on scene. They were identified as 25-year-old Yimeng Li and 20-year-old Carney Huang of Seattle, Washington. Three additional occupants of the Toyota were taken to the hospital. The driver and the passenger of the Ford were also taken to the hospital.
