Fire crews saved a dog after it fell through the ice on Washoe Lake early Wednesday morning.Â
Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District says the dog was off-leash when it ran out onto the ice.Â
The owner called 911 for help.Â
Emergency crews want to remind everyone to be safe near water, or ice during the cold winter months.Â
Today TM Crews were called to #rescue a #dog from the ice on #WashoeLake. The dog was off-leash, ran out and fell through the ice. Owner was wise and called 911 rather than risking his own life. The dog and owner are safe. Please use caution near bodies of water! pic.twitter.com/ougcg1ymaY
