A house fire in Lyon County has left a family without a home.Â
The Lyon County Fire Department says crews were called to a house on the corner of Tamarack Ave. and Second St. in Silver Springs, around 4 p.m. on Monday.
First responders say that is where a large fire had engulfed a residence, eventually destroying it and damaging surrounding property.
The Lyon County Sheriff's Department confirms five family members were visiting a neighbor's house at the time and no one was injured in the blaze.
The house is considered a "total loss" and one of the family's cars was also destroyed.
Investigators are still working to determine how the fire started.
Over the next several days, American Red Cross client casework volunteers will stay in contact with the victims and provide referrals, as the residents begin their road to recovery.Â
