Vice President Joe Biden Set to Visit Las Vegas on Monday

Former Vice President Joe Biden is endorsing Democrat Aaron Ford in the Nevada attorney general's race.

Ford's campaign announced the endorsement Tuesday.

Biden says Ford's escape from a childhood in poverty shows he knows that it means to struggle and overcome the odds.

"Aaron Ford knows what it means to struggle and overcome the odds. He grew up poor, worked hard in school to escape poverty, attended college on a scholarship and loans, and was the first in his family to graduate from college. I'm proud to endorse Aaron Ford for Attorney General because he will always put Nevada families first by taking on the scammers who rip off seniors, the insurance companies who deny needed care, the polluters who poison our water, and the drug dealers who prey on our children. Aaron will be an Attorney General who protects Nevada families."

“I am honored to have the support of Vice President Joe Biden, a true champion for working families," said Aaron Ford. "He understands the hardships that the middle class faces, and I will always work to help those Nevadans who just want a fair shot at a better life

Ford is currently serving as the Nevada Senate's majority leader.

He's running against Republican former assistant state attorney general Wes Duncan.

Biden has also endorsed Assemblyman Nelson Araujo for secretary of state, former Rep. Steven Horsford in Nevada's 4th Congressional District, Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen in the U.S. Senate race and philanthropist Susie Lee in Nevada's 3rd Congressional District.
