Lyon County officials say Central Lyon Fire Protection District (CLCFPD) responded to a fire in Silver Springs in the area of Esmeralda Avenue and Truckee Street on Monday.
They said two homes were lost but forward progress of the fire has been stopped.
Resources from Yerington, Storey County, Lyon County Road Department and Carson also responded.
They reported that a number of people showed symptoms of smoke inhalation and EMS established a treatment area.
CLCFPD lifted evacuation orders but want people to avoid the area so emergency crews can mop up.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
