The Reno Fire Department reports they responded to a gas leak near Kingfisher Drive on Monday evening.
They said homeowners were digging to extend their sprinkler lines and hit a gas line under the concrete steps of their home in the area.
Reno Fire says they found the supply line and capped it off.
They said they are leaving it capped overnight so crews can repair it in the morning.
They said there were no evacuations at the time.
