WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's extradition hearing from Britain to the U.S. is being delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

It was set for May 18th.

Assange's lawyer said trial preparations have been greatly hampered by a ban on visitors at the prison during the coronavirus lockdown.

He said if things moved forward, Assange would "be facing a David and Goliath battle with his hands behind his back."

Assange is wanted in the U.S. for conspiring with U.S. military intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to expose classified information back in 2010.

He was granted political asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy in London in 2012, but was arrested in London in April 2019.
