Non-profit group Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada (RTNNV) is celebrating National Rebuilding Day by repairing homes of income-qualified veterans, senior citizens and disabled persons on Saturday at no cost to the homeowners.
Some of the repairs include installing grab bars, handrails, new flooring, smoke alarms, proper ventilation and adequate weatherization. Additionally, workers are repairing and replacing HVAC units, roofs and appliances.
“There are thousands of homes in our community that need such services,” RTNNV board president Katie Pace noted. “With more volunteers and support we can go a long way toward realizing our vision of safe homes for everyone in our community.”
