Road Conditions As Temperature Drops

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Truckee says there's several area roads with chain controls in place on Monday evening.

Those roads are:

  • I-80 in both directions from Donner Lake Road to Drum Forebay
  • SR-89 from Picketts Junction to US-50
  • SR-28 from Tahoe City to Lardin Way
  • SR-20 from Bear Valley to I-80
  • US-50 from Kyburz to Meyers
  • SR-88 from Hams Station to Picketts Junction

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) says chains are up on Mt. Rose Highway from SR-28 to Mt. Rose Ski Resort as well.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution in slippery conditions.
