COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - About 2,500 people have gathered in an Ohio State University auditorium to celebrate the life of John Glenn. The space pioneer's casket was carried through the streets of Columbus in procession from the Ohio Statehouse.

Vice President Joe Biden is among those speaking at the memorial service. A host of other dignitaries, including present and former governors, members of Ohio's congressional delegation and university leaders, are in attendance.
  Â
Thousands of visitors, including Secretary of State John Kerry, visited the Ohio Statehouse on Friday to pay their respects as Glenn lay in honor. He will be buried in a private ceremony this spring at Arlington Cemetery near Washington, D.C.

Glenn died Dec. 8 at age 95.
