National Library Week Kicks Off With Book Sale

National library Week kicks off this Sunday, April 7 and lasts until April 13. Friends of Washoe County Library is joining in on National Library Week with a nine-day book sale.

Friends of Washoe County Library will be hosting their nine-day book sale from April 6 to the 14. Thousands of books can be purchased at 50 cents and $1 in a plethora of genres as well as CDs, VHS tapes and DVDs. There is also a small section of individually priced books that include 100 year-old books.

Friends of Washoe County Library is a nonprofit organization who helps raise funds to support the uniqueness of libraries and their role in the local community through their services, programs and collections of books.

The book sale is located in Reno Town Mall on South Virginia and Peckham across from the Atlantis.

National Library week is celebrated in all libraries over the nation; all support a theme of 'libraries = strong communities'.

The Washoe County Library System says this theme reinforces that libraries build strong communities through many different programs and expertise.
