In 2014, over 500 events have been celebrated in all areas of Nevada for the sesquicentennial. Meaning each celebration has been honoring the state's 150th year of statehood. On Saturday, Nevada held its biggest event yet, the Carson City Nevada Day Parade.
Scott Carey of the Nevada 150 organization says this year's parade was the biggest yet and it's great for the people of Nevada.
“This one's the largest and it's the oldest and it's the most established and it's just a great day to be a Nevadan, says Carey.”
More than 200 entries made up this year's parade. Marching bands, law enforcement and public officials took to the streets, to help wish Nevada a happy birthday.
The four hour parade drew in thousands of people all along Carson St.
This year's sesquicentennial has many native Nevadan's saying how proud they are of their state.
