The Sierra edition of My Golf Passport is hot off the press.
"I came up with the idea of a passport because we don't have one in our community and it's a way to give deals at different courses," said Owner Jaci Goodman. "It's a way to get our community to explore the wonderful courses we have here in the Sierra and do it at a discount."
There are deals at golf courses, shops and restaurants all over Northern Nevada.
"For $59.95 you get a full year of golfing and if you use each offer, it's worth more than a thousand dollars," Goodman said. "You can go to The Links at Squaw Creek for two for one, Whitehawk Ranch, Graeagle, there's a 20% off discount at Edgewood for a stay and play."
20% of all sales will go to The First Tee of Northern Nevada, a nonprofit that teaches kids golf and all kinds of life skills.
"My goal is to make kids better people, that's what this program does," said First Tee Executive Director Chris Dewar. "It gives them tools to think about things like honesty and integrity, and that's huge, especially in today's world. Reaching kids at an early age is really impactful for our community."
The golf passports are available now at this site and are good through 2021. You can enter the discount code First Tee 2021 to get $5 off.
The charity portion of each sale will stay right here in Northern Nevada, so The First Tee can help more kids and teens in our community.
"72% of our kids don't pay anything to participate, we rely heavily on scholarships and funding from the community, grant writing, individual contributions, things like that," Dewar said.
